Zone Labs Introduces ZoneAlarm Wireless Security
New Product Joins Zone Labs Family of Endpoint Security Solutions for Consumer and SOHO Users
San Francisco, CA - February 8, 2005 - Zone Labs®, a Check Point® company (Nasdaq: CHKP), today announced the immediate availability of ZoneAlarm® Wireless Security, a new Internet security solution designed specifically for mobile users and wireless home networks. ZoneAlarm Wireless Security combines the Zone Labs award-winning firewall with essential wireless network security and email protection to automatically detect and protect both wireless and wired network connections. As users roam, ZoneAlarm Wireless Security recognizes and secures all new wireless networks for worry-free wireless computing.
ZoneAlarm Wireless Security is the newest addition to the Zone Labs family of endpoint security solutions that protect PCs from a wide range of Internet-borne threats posed by hackers, viruses, spyware, online fraud and spam. These solutions span the entire spectrum of customer needs from the comprehensive ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite offering all-in-one PC protection to the basic Internet security provided by ZoneAlarm.
Consumer and business use of wireless products is rapidly increasing. Market analyst group IDC notes that more than 16 million homes in the United States now have wireless networks. IDC also estimates that 27.7 million wireless network devices will be shipped world-wide in 2005, up 44% from the 19.2 million shipped in 2004.
ZoneAlarm Wireless Security is ideally suited for mobile PC users, as well as users connecting to wireless home and SOHO networks. With just one click, users can program ZoneAlarm Wireless Security to always put unsecured networks in a "safe zone," ensuring maximum security whenever new wireless networks are accessed. If connecting to a secured wireless network (WEP- or WPA-enabled), users can choose whether to put their connection in the "safe zone" or "trusted zone," depending on whether they want to share files or connect to printers.
"The introduction of ZoneAlarm Wireless Security further enhances our range of security products and services for consumer and SOHO users," said Frederick Felman, vice president, small business and consumer marketing, Check Point Software Technologies. "ZoneAlarm Wireless Security offers the fast-growing number of wireless users the same security assurances provided to wired users."
ZoneAlarm Wireless Security combines an intuitive user experience with powerful security features including a stealth firewall to barricade the PC from inbound attacks, Program Control to thwart Trojan horses and spyware programs and MailSafe to quarantine suspicious email attachments.
Pricing and Availability ZoneAlarm Wireless Security is ideally suited for users of Windows 2000 Pro and XP. ZoneAlarm Wireless Security costs $29.95 for a single user, and is available online at http://www.zonelabs.com as well as at leading retail outlets.
